Department Overview
 
This role is within CIB Front Office support team with in Wells Fargo India. The department works with CIB business which provides direct structured lending in addition to the underwriting and distribution of securities for clients who access the bond markets through securitizations. Business provides services across broad range of asset classes, including securitization & lending, corporate debt finance, and mortgage finance and works closely with large domestic and international clients. The client base includes banks, NBFC, Financial Institutions, Insurance, Mortgage and Real Estate finance and investment funds.
 
About the Role
This is a senior role with the department and required the individual to build and lead the team and take overall ownership and accountability of delivery and translating business requirements into priorities for the team. Role will also involve interacting with senior stakeholders in the business as the face of the department with in Wells Fargo India.
The roles involves supporting structure finance department with Wells Fargo CIB business where in team will be responsible for financial review/credit analysis, writing different types of memos, compiling regular reports, trend analysis, covenant review, ratio calculations, etc. 
 
Responsibilities 
 

1. Build & lead a team that provides offshore support for an industry leading structured finance department within a large investment bank.  The team will provide credit analysis/portfolio management support for a large department that lends money to financial institutions
2. Leadership role, but individual contribution also needed to plan, train, mentor and review finished work product of the team
3. Liaise with onshore counterparts and functionally be responsible to them
4. Build & lead a front office team. Training & mentoring junior colleagues
5. Understand new tasks, prepare processes & procedures for executing these tasks, i.e., build the foundation for a solid future
6. Oversee delivery through allocation of work to the team on a weekly basis, ensuring timely completion of all work products, including ensuring adequate quality control of all work products.
7. Work closely with onshore teams to ensure department is fully aligned to business priorities.
8. Ability to review financial statement spreading & perform financial analysis

 

 

Market Skills and Certifications

Essential Qualifications
 

1. B. Com or equivalent degree with  MBA Finance, CFA or CA.
2. Total experience of 10-12 years of experience with at least 5 years’ experience in credit analysis, debt or equity research, corporate lending or structured finance including work on Mortgage backed securities/ bond securitizations or collateralized lending.
3. Strong management skills with ability to lead a team.
4. Excellent computer skills: Word, Excel & Powerpoint
5. Sound analytical thinking and high attention to detail needed
6. Strong communication skills – both verbal and written. Ability to speak articulately & strong business writing skills
7. High level of personal motivation, strong interpersonal skills to manage team & also work across continents
8. Must be able to work in a fast paced production environment and juggle a variety of tasks (time management skills are important)
9. Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
10. Knowledge of corporate loans, specifically leveraged loans or experience in Corporate Lending/Leveraged Finance in a global investment bank or financial services firm.
