Based in our Cluj-Napoca office, the Cost Controller brings an important contribution to Emerson's Machine Automation Solutions business, by remotely supporting manufacturing and distribution activities at our Augsburg facility in Germany.

Together with the global finance team and local operations colleagues, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting performance on various manufacturing metrics (Productivity / Deflation / SG&A / Headcount / Inventory / Investments). The role comes with the opportunity to partner other functions, shared services and colleagues in the US, Middle East, Africa and Europe to drive timely, accurate and value adding business insights.

In this role you will:

• Support critical business planning processes in close partnership with finance and operations colleagues Presidents Operating Reviews (POR), Financial outlook, Annual forecasting process, etc.;

• Manage monthly and quarterly closing process in collaboration with other finance colleagues, including cost accounting accruals, inventory valuation and costing (RM, WIP, FG), obsolescence and warranty reserves, and consequent balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations;

• Support timely & accurate reporting for variable cost productivity, deflation, variable / fixed costs and margins on monthly basis;

• Support weekly & monthly finance operating processes including outlook, Inventory management, factory financial operating reviews;

• Drive working capital improvements, including payables and inventory;

• Develops and maintains annual standard costing process, labor and overhead rates with clear feedback to management for variances;

• Responsible for proper recording, reporting, analysis and review of plant manufacturing costs and key performance measurements (operational and financial);

• Work with BU management to document Transfer Pricing to ensure profitability is at arm’s length;

• Provide support in accounting activities related to inventory accounting / processes (booking journal entries, physical inventory controls, costing & production order accounting)

• Provide support in general accounting activities as and when required;

For this role you will need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related field;
• Minimum of 3 years of finance experience including general accounting knowledge, reporting, analysis, and project management skills;
• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability and knowledge in manufacturing costing principles;
• Proficient English level (written and spoken);
• Proficient in using Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word);
• SAP knowledge is an advantage;
• Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure;
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with remote colleagues;
