Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in social media management and/or marketing.
  • Experience with regional marketing and team management. Experience with North Asia (e.g., Japan, Korea) APAC markets.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in social analytics. Experience with building/maintaining processes to proactively/reactively manage user sentiment across social platforms. Knowledge of social media monitoring/listening tools.
  • Experience in working with statistical analysis and data mining software.
  • Understanding of YouTube’s ecosystem and social media’s best practices and campaigns in APAC.
  • Knowledge of Japanese/Korean culture.
  • Record of innovative thinking, creativity and data driven capabilities in areas such as social media marketing.
  • Proven team player, excellent interpersonal skills. Effective leadership, influencing and communication skills, with demonstrated talent at building/managing teams and collaborative external partnerships

About the job

As a Social Marketing Lead for YouTube Marketing in Asia Pacific (APAC), you will lead a regional team to shape and drive the social presence in a dynamic and growing region.

You will be a constant advocate for our users. Your ideas will be deeply rooted in what they care about and what delights them. You will demonstrate your analytical expertise and experience to set up processes to escalate potential brand risks and respond swiftly and thoughtfully to topics that are important to our users.

You will work cross-functionally, and deepen the brand engagement, elevate our social presence, drive positive user sentiment and loyalty, and provide frequent and clear analysis to management allowing the organization to develop an effective grassroots understanding of what our users care about.

Beyond building impactful social strategies that brings the brand to life across social channels, you’ll also manage the planning, execution and day-to-day operations of the regional social media team, including proactive and reactive social listening and issue management. This role is cross-functional and international, and you’ll work with global, local and regional marketing and content teams.

  • Be responsible for building and shaping the social media strategy for the YouTube brand. Partner with product marketing teams across regions to help develop programs that deliver business results.
  • Engage and lead local social teams and agencies to build effective social media campaigns. Build effective social media presence through creative content curating and data driven optimization.
  • Work closely with global/regional social/PR/policy teams to put in place round-the-clock workflows and processes, proactive and reactive escalation and management of user sentiment across social platforms.
  • Maintain monthly dashboard on social media performance indicators to monitor the health of the YouTube brand across the social landscape in APAC. Track/quantify social impact on YouTube business goals.
  • Prepare presentations that deliver concise analysis, insights, and results across YouTube APAC’s social media activities to inform strategic decision making.
