The Model Portfolio Solutions (MPS) team brings together the research and investment expertise of teams across the firm through a systematic quantitative approach in order to deliver a comprehensive range of outcome-oriented solutions. The MPS team is seeking an Associate to join and support the global team of investment researchers, portfolio managers and client strategists in development and management of Multi-Asset model portfolios. This role requires strong analytical, quantitative and programming skills and ability to work and communicate in a global team spread across time-zones. Given the focus on multi-asset approaches among our clients and within BlackRock, this role has considerable scope for the right individual to have an impact on both the success of the team as well as the broader MASS and MPS businesses
What you will do:
Partner with senior researchers in developing and testing new quantitative investment signals for Equity, Fixed income and Alternatives.
Collaborate with MPS and Core PM teams in Asia to develop and manage model portfolio for Indian investors. This includes working with global IT teams in creating technology infrastructure to support data and models and prospecting and identifying initial set of clients
Quantitative Data Management & Maintenance
Developing and maintaining python code to support existing and new research efforts
Working with Aladdin product group to incorporate quant signals into the MPS research and production platform and to maintain a robust technology infrastructure to support the investment processes
Updating & quality control on investment logic and data
Produce and review portfolio analytics (factor exposures, performance attribution, risk report) to ensure execution consistent with investment design
Dissemination of investment benchmarks, allocations to ATS/ATC and downstream stakeholders (reporting, attribution, RQA)
Development and maintenance of Tableau dashboards across the division
Utilize Aladdin technology and analytical tools to enhance processes and to help drive scale
Work closely with Strategist on performance and exposure reports which ultimately will be delivered to clients and internal stakeholders
What you should have:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher-level qualification and demonstrated record of academic achievement
Previous work experience of at least 3 years in asset management or financial services, preferably in quantitative investments across multiple asset classes
Proven organizational and project management skills
Technical skills including Python and Matlab are essential. Tableau and SQL strongly preferred.
Knowledge of capital market investments (i.e. understanding of Fixed Income, Equities and alternatives)
Excellent communication skills in writing and speech; capable of connecting with multiple audiences
Experience managing and working with multiple stakeholders spread across time-zones
Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
High level of self-motivation, ownership and initiative
Achievement of CFA, FRM or equivalent qualifications (or progress towards) encouraged.
