The Finance Division globally reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm?s books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley?s various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley?s various businesses and its senior management team.
The Legal Entity Control Group is responsible for the financial management and control of the Firm?s legal entities. This team is responsible for preparing audited and unaudited statutory financial statements; management accounts; Federal Reserve entity level reporting; and other reporting for senior management when requested. We are also responsible for ensuring that standard monthly and quarterly financial reporting controls and validations operate correctly.
The role on offer is that of an Analyst who will be part of the Legal Entity Controllers team in Mumbai, and will have responsibility for regulatory reporting, financial accounting and tax compliances for select India domiciled / registered entities. This candidate will report to a Director (Manager) in Mumbai.
- Ownership of operating legal entity as Legal Entity Controller
- Month end activities including expense accruals, cost allocations, reconciliations (Intercompany, Bank, control accounts), Transfer pricing calculations, booking of GAAP adjustments, tax provisions.

- Balance Sheet and P&L preparation and review. Preparing detailed variance analysis

? Candidate should be able to demonstrate a rounded commercial approach to legal entity controllership and analysis, with proven skills in insightful management reporting, analysis and sound technical accounting skills

? Have the flexibility required to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines.
